THE HARBINGER OF SPRING: ROBIN
Hello everyone,
What feelings does the arrival of spring awaken in you? I have always been a child of spring. Since my childhood, there has been a name whispered to me: Robin…
It was not my official name, yet every time it was spoken, it carried a sense of spring within me. Years later, at the age of 47, I made the decision to make it official and completed the necessary applications. Because I believe this is no longer just a pen name, but a name that truly represents me.
So, what is Robin?
The robin is one of the most graceful heralds of spring. When it appears after winter, it is not just a bird—it is a sign. It whispers that the cold is dissolving, the earth is breathing again, and life, despite all its fragility, is beginning anew. Its arrival is quiet, yet its impact is profound.
There is an old story told about the robin. According to legend, its chest was not always so distinctive. Until one day, in the midst of cold and darkness, it approached a fire that was about to fade… To keep the fire alive and to warm the living beings around it, the robin flapped its wings and breathed life into the flames. In doing so, its chest was burned, and its feathers turned red. Yet it did not retreat. That small body chose to preserve the warmth. And from that day on, the robin has been known for the redness it carries on its chest—
As the mark of a burn, but also of a determination to sustain life.
The robin is small, yet remarkable. It exists not through noise, but through consistency. Each morning, it sings with the same determination, reminding its surroundings that life continues. What makes it special is not its size or strength, but its timing. It appears exactly when it is needed.
Perhaps that is why the name “Robin” does not feel like a coincidence.
Sometimes, a person—just like this bird—appears at the turning points of life. Quietly, yet leaving a trace… A single sentence that shifts direction, a small window opening in someone’s mind, unnoticed beginnings that take root… In the moments when I feel that my words and expressions can create such an effect, I am reminded that this is a blessing.
To be Robin is, above all, to stand on the side of renewal.
Not denying the weight of winter, but refusing to remain there… To be among those who recognize the arrival of light, and perhaps more importantly, to remind others of it.
For me, this name is not just an identity, but a stance. To initiate small movements where others feel stuck, to offer possibility where there seems to be none, to turn toward the light even in the midst of darkness…
Perhaps the redness I carry within is, like the robin’s chest, a trace of having been burned yet choosing to remain warm.
Spring comes every year. But not everyone welcomes it the same way. Some simply observe, while others transform with it. As for me, I choose to be among those who notice its arrival and share it.
